Event Title: Earth Day activities @Publika
21-Apr-2013 to 21-Apr-2013 Past Event
Venue: The Square, Publika, KL
Organizer: Multiple (EcoKnights, Ecocentric, Reef Check Malaysia)

Dear friends,

It's one of those weekends where everything is taking place in one location.

Come to the Square at Publika this Sunday, 21st April from 8 am to late.

And here's a run down of what's taking place:

  • AVEDA Walk for Water campaign (8 am to 10 am) - a 2.5 km walk for the public to participate in support of water awareness campaign on the island of Mantanani for 1200 villagers. The goal is to educate the public on accessibility to clean water, and also to raise funds for Project H20, a collaborative effort between EcoKnights and Blue Life, to provide clean drinking water to 1200 villagers and to raise local awareness on water conservation. • Rockin for the Reefs (11 am to late) - an awareness campaign in the form of a acoustic concert, featuring local musicians and bands, coming together to engage the public in reef conservation. Amazing line ups, and this includes an eco bazaar featuring exhibitions and sales of merchandise in support of local environmental NGOs. • EcoKnights Shoe Donation/Recycling Drive with Standard Chartered KL Marathon (12 pm to 6 pm)- A simple effort to collect donated (and still wearable and good condition) shoes for indigenous communities in Perak. For each sports shoe donated, you will receive a 20% voucher from New Balance. This is a collaborative effort between EcoKnights and SCKLM.
  • Talks on Sustainability (3 pm and 4 pm at the White Box)- Featuring Firdaus Nisha from Ecocentrics Transitions and Chef Daisy, who will be sharing conversations with any members of the public about starting an edible garden at home, and also vegan recipes.

T

he fliers to the above events are attached in this email.

We hope you are able to join us, and able to share this long list of fun activities with your friends and family.

It's Earth Day, the least we can do, is start being conscious about our actions at home. If that needs some encouragement, then come to Publika this Sunday to meet like minded individuals who can inspire and motivate you to do more for a better future.

Thanks and best regards: Yasmin
