The red lights had blinked long ago. The clarion call to halt global warming has been sounded since the 60s. With feeble efforts to mitigate the phenomenon, the disastrous zenith may come to pass. A 4ºC warmer world may be the mercurial climax or even perhaps the climatic Armageddon at the end of this century.
