From mudflat to mangrove forest.These photos capture the transformation of the Kuala Sungai Muda riverine from a degraded mudflat in 2023 to a restored mangrove forest in 2026.Since 2024, GEC and Leader Energy Group Berhad have been restoring this important mangrove ecosystem in collaboration with Pengurusan Lembangan Sungai Muda (PLSM, Plsm_gov) and the government authority overseeing the site, as well as together with local implementing partners the Desa KEDA Tepi Sungai community and Sahabat Hutan Bakau Kampung Taman Nilam (SHBKTN).The site lies close to the area most severely impacted by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Many members of the Desa KEDA Tepi Sungai community experienced the disaster themselves, making the restoration work deeply personal.This transformation shows that nature can recover when we work hand in hand 💚#mangroverestoration #esg #ClimateAction #LeaderEnergy #globalenvironmentcentre

That's already a very good restoration effort to protect the mangrove population n habitats. Hopefully our marine life department will further take care n restore these places to protect the beach lines from erosions n continuation of marine food.

Sekarang Julai 2026. Berdasarkan pengalaman saya terlibat dengan aktiviti penanaman pokok bakau, agak mustahil pokok bakau tumbuh sebegitu cepat 🙏
