This project aims to ensure the continuity of community-based forest management and rehabilitation initiatives through sustainable, medium- to long-term multi-stakeholder partnership in Sarawak.
Objectives:
To support the development of a conservation programme in the Kelabit highlands to protect forests and peatlands in partnership with local community and Pulong Tau National Park.
Key Activities:
- Organise community awareness event.
- Conduct Kelabit Highland ground assessment for upland peatland mapping.
- Implement forest stewardship initiative with local community.
Key Outcomes:
- Potential areas for upland peatland have been identified.
- Nursery of Arabica Coffee and Sago has been established for forest stewardship with the local community.
