This project supports the Mangrove Rehabilitation Activities in Sarawak by engaging with local stakeholders including local community.
Aim/Objectives: Restoring mangrove ecosystem through revegetation by planting native tree species while empower local communities through the activities.
Key Activities:
- Engaging local community for tree planting activities
- Monitor key biodiversity activity.
- Empowering the communities that the restoration activities
- Monitor carbon measurement
Key Outcomes:
- Planted 2,500 trees equivalent to 4ha on degraded land to support natural regeneration in Binsulok Forest Reserve.
- Established community nurseries from Kampung Buntal
- Empowering local communities through forest stewardship in rehabilitation areas.
