Innisfree Malaysia – Green Forest Campaign

As part of Green Forest Campaign, Innisfree Malaysia pledged to collaborate with Global Environment Centre (GEC) to adopt parts of degraded Raja Musa Forest Reserve (RMFR) areas in 2017. The initiative undertaken is by planting more trees to help sustain the habitat endangered species, climate change, quality of air and protecting peatland in sustainable manner.

Innisfree Malaysia is a cosmetics brand from South Korea made up of natural ingredients. In line with the Innisfree’s Green Promise concept, Innisfree Malaysia has chosen RMFR as a project site to actualise the Innisfree Malaysia’s initiative towards Peatlands Forest Sustainability.

Project Progress:

  • 2017 – Planted 600 Tenggek Burung saplings with 60 volunteers and members of Friends of North Selangor Peat Swamp Forest (FNSPSF) in September.
  • 2018 – Planted 300 Tenggek Burung Saplings with 80 volunteers from Innisfree in September.
  • 2019 – Planted 300 trees by 80 volunteers and staffs from Innisfree Malaysia in June.
  • 2020 – Planted 600 saplings at different sites within RMFR in September.
  • 2021 – Conducted Enrichment Tree Planting Programme by planting of 600 high quality dipterocarp species saplings by local community, Sahabat Hutan Gambut Selangor Utara (SHGSU) with guidance from GEC officers in October and November.
  • Direct purchasing of peat saplings from community nursery has indirectly supported the sustainable livelihood options for the SHGSU members. This ensures continuous supply of Tenggek Burung saplings for rehabilitation activity while benefiting the local community.
  • Implementation of maintenance works at planted sites.
  • 2024 – Planted 600 trees with 113 Innisfree volunteers at RMFR in June.
