This project supports the Mangrove Rehabilitation Activities in Sarawak by engaging with local stakeholders including the local community.
Objectives:
Restoring mangrove ecosystem through revegetation by planting native tree species while empower local communities through the activities.
Key Activities:
- Engage local community members in tree planting activities.
- Monitor key biodiversity activity.
- Empower the community members in restoration activities.
- Monitor carbon measurement.
Key Outcomes:
- Planted 2,500 trees in 4 ha of degraded land to support natural regeneration in Binsulok Forest Reserve.
- Established a community nursery in Kampung Buntal.
- Empowered local communities through forest stewardship in rehabilitation areas.
